Revolutionizing salon culture through mindset, technology, and wellness.
Salon Frequency® is a podcast and community created for salon professionals who are reimagining what success, balance, and legacy look like in the beauty industry.
Through meaningful conversations, educational experiences, and digital tools, we help stylists and salon owners build businesses that align with both their purpose and profit.
Each episode invites beauty professionals to think beyond appointments in order to lead with strategy, integrate wellness, and use technology to expand what’s possible behind and beyond the chair.
Jocelyn Reneé is a licensed cosmetologist, registered yoga teacher, and beauty educator with over 20 years in natural hair care and wellness.
She’s best known for helping salon professionals align mindset, money, and self-care to build their legacy — one system, one conversation, and one client at a time.
After years behind the chair, Jocelyn created Salon Frequency® to close the gap between beauty, business, and technology. Her mission is to help professionals future-proof their careers with literacy — financial, digital, and well-being.
I’m a Sagittarius. I can’t sing but I do it anyway. I’ve been working since I was 13. Im not sure if thats a fun fact or illegal. Im a Philly native and I’ve always had a knack for doing hair. However, my interest in business and finance lead to a degree in business from UMES. I then spent 8 years working in corporate America as an accountant, financial analyst and finally as an Account Executive for Radio One. It was during that time that I rediscovered my love for hair. A chance encounter at the Dreadloc Shop eventually led to a part time job as a Salon Assistant. Working at the salon proved to be far more exciting than my 9-5 so I enrolled in cosmetology school at night.
In 2008 after completing my cosmetology state boards and with very little money saved, bad credit and a desire for more, I left my “good job” and decided to become a full time hairstylist. A year later I took another leap of faith. I took a chance on myself and took over ownership of the Dreadloc Shop.
With over 15 years experience as a Natural Hair Stylist, I still find beauty, versatility and excitement in the ever evolving world of natural hair care. When I’m not in the salon you can usually find me spending time with my husband and two amazing sons.
